环氧地坪塗料的施工溫度為5-35℃,但該溫度區間對於不使用稀釋劑的环氧自流平地坪塗料仍是很寬的溫度范圍。由於自流平环氧地坪塗料的黏度受溫度影響很大,以至於低溫下黏度合適的自流平环氧地坪塗料在高溫施工會“像水一樣流動”而難於鏝塗施工。而高溫下黏度適合的自流平地坪塗料在低溫下則會粘稠得難以鏝塗且表面不易流平。因而,环氧自流平地坪塗料一般需要設置冬用型和夏用型兩種體系,以適應不同地域、不同季節的环境因素,尤其是溫度因素的變化。

鏝塗是环氧自流平地坪塗料傳統的施工方法,也是目前常用的方法。鏝塗施工的優點是操作簡單,易於培訓,但其施工效率較低,人工鏝塗自流平面效率為300-500平方/8小時。鏝塗施工受自流平塗料底剪切時表觀黏度的影響很大,塗膜的厚度、施工的手感、長時間操作的疲勞程度都與塗料的黏度以及觸變性有關。過大過小的黏度和觸變性都會是塗料的鏝塗施工變得困難。無氣噴塗施工時塗料的流量取決於噴槍的動力和塗料的黏度。若塗料的黏度增大,則會降低噴槍的流量,降低施工效率。塗料的黏度低,既能夠提高施工效率,有能夠降低塗料的用量,並增加施工的自由度。
